About the Journal
Artificial Intelligence in Lifelong and Life-Course Education (AILLCE) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes high-quality research on the role, impact, and implications of artificial intelligence (AI) in education across the entire lifespan. The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for advancing theoretical, empirical, and methodological scholarship that examines how AI shapes learning processes, educational systems, and human development from early childhood through adulthood and later life
AILLCE focuses on educational contexts encompassing formal, non-formal, and informal learning environments, including early childhood education, primary and secondary schooling, higher education, vocational education and training, adult education, professional development, and community-based learning. The journal emphasizes life-course perspectives, recognizing learning as a continuous, dynamic process influenced by developmental stages, social transitions, and technological change.
The journal welcomes original research articles, theoretical papers, methodological contributions, systematic reviews, and design-based studies that explore AI-enhanced learning systems, intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive and personalized learning, learning analytics, AI-driven assessment, and emerging AI-integrated educational technologies. Particular attention is given to pedagogical, psychological, ethical, and governance dimensions of AI in education, including AI literacy, learner agency, well-being, equity, inclusion, and responsible AI practices.
By integrating perspectives from education, learning sciences, artificial intelligence, psychology, and social sciences, AI-LLCE aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based, human-centered, and ethically grounded AI applications that support lifelong and life-course education. The journal seeks to inform researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in advancing sustainable and inclusive educational innovation in the age of artificial intelligence.
